Mondays always come

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life," I remember hearing often while growing up. This quote has many meanings that should not be taken lightly.

Thursday is good enough for me

One more work day for most of you Monday through Friday workers. Life is funny, time is even funnier. Time is constant no matter what. We must be respectful and good to one another and our environment. We only get one chance and we must get it right (or at least be on the right path). We are optimistic about our present, our future, and our past. We are who we are and we make no apologies for being true, independent, and honest thinkers and supporters of all things good.

Going forward

For now on, I plan to make two to three blog posting a week. I find that to be more manageable. I am excited as my husband and I will start healthier eating habits today (it is only 1:27 eastern time). I purchased lots of wonderfulness from our local farmer's market yesterday and it was AWESOME. Good deals, fresh stuff what more could I ask for? Optimism is everything!

Taking Ownership Starts Now

Taking ownership of one's life and well-being are extremely important. Many individuals often give up control over their lives when they get married (usually unconsciously). In many marriages, spouses will divvy up household chores and responsibilities to make life smoother. Okay so getting back on track, I have decided I need to take charge of my life. Take no prisoners, no excuses, go forth and conquer! I want certain things in my life to improve sooner than later. I have decided by steam rolling ahead and getting things done that maybe I can reach a level of inner peace in knowing that certain things are in order (or right) in my world. Taking control includes things like cleaning and organizing my house, re-evaluating some of our belongings and giving some away to thrift stores and organizations to help those who need it the most. Taking control also includes finishing school (again for like the 3rd or 5th time), working more diligently on improving my eating habits (I think I have the exercise part down pack now) and the list goes on and on and on...

Tuesday sounds like a good start

So we all survived the long holiday weekend. That is a good thing. We did get the chance to finally relax a bit yesterday. Saturday and Sunday were go-go-go days with many things to do. We saw family went to two cook-outs that were both scheduled to start at the same time (almost), a family reunion dinner, running errands (a half gallon of milk does not last indefinitely), visiting family and doing what we do bes:t eating wonderful food with wonderful company!

So you may ask, what about the diet, the healthy eating and living? We are still working on those things. We are working on limiting our portions, becoming more aware of our food choices, exercising more frequently, etc. It is after all a project-in-motion. "Rome was not built in a day," we did not get out of shape overnight so we are not looking for a, "quick-fix" that may last a few months, we are looking for lifestyle changes that will have positive results over a long-term. But I will continue to post more about our experiences and progress (and regressions) soon.

Quote for the day: Rome was not built in a day. - Need I say more? (It is a Roman, French and English proverb and the author or originator is unknown).

A 3 Day Weekend is just a few hours away

Today has been a rather busy unassuming day. Yesterday was very eventful. Sometimes an uneventful day is the best kind of day to have or hope for. But we survived and have moved on. I am looking forward to the 3 day weekend. There are a lot of things I can and will do.

Getting into shape update: Doing okay so far. I am getting in (on average) 5 days of at least 35 minutes of exercise or more! I am moving in the right direction and that is important to me.
